Years of history and education
The inception of Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) coincided with the eve of India’s Independence, inspired by the visionary Sardar Patel. This vision was fervently embraced by Shri Bhaikaka and Shri Bhikhabhai Saheb, who devoted their lives to rural regeneration through the establishment of Gramodyog and by bringing higher education to village communities.
On March 3, 1945, they conceptualized an educational township named Vidyanagar, later christened Vallabh Vidyanagar in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This township became the first planned university township in independent India, evolving into a comprehensive educational hub offering schools and constituent colleges across all major academic disciplines. It also included extensive plans for hostels, faculty quarters, playgrounds, and parks, making it a dream scheme in every sense.
Vallabh Vidyanagar is a blend of diverse cultures, fostering an environment of creativity and enhancing the quality of life for its student citizens. Those who reside here cherish their golden moments on campus. Over the years, the town has grown in strength and consolidated its position to tackle the challenges of the future.
Established fifty-five years ago, Vallabh Vidyanagar stands out for its unique purpose and diverse educational offerings. Strategically located between Ahmedabad and Vadodara, it has emerged as a vibrant educational hub in western India. Just six kilometers from India’s milk city, Anand, it has distinguished itself in the education sector by offering numerous innovative programs and attracting students from around the globe. Anand, situated on the main rail link and NH8, is approximately 75 kilometers from Ahmedabad and 40 kilometers from Vadodara.
